Since your interested in lizards another you might enjoy is the Uromastyx the nice thing about them is they don't require crickets and meals worm strictly vegetarian lizards now they can have a meal worm or super worm as an occasional treat but the protein in crickets and worms just is not good for them..we feed ours a mix of collard greens, mustard greens, endive, bok choy, nappa cabbage, squash, yams, frozen thawed mix veggies (carrots, corn, green beans, peas), they also like dandelion greens and the blooms,zuchinni..they are desert lizards and require temps of about 120 in the basking area adults are fine on sterilized playground sound we actually use straight white porso millet for our Uros.

Here is a great site to check out about Uromastyx this guys is actually local in my state we bought both our Uros from him and have gotten to know him quite well as he does all the local northwest exotic reptile shows...There are many different species of Uros, Malis are the best for beginners and the hardiest his site talks about house, diet and everything..
Here is the web page about the species of Uromastyx
http://www.deerfernfarms.com/Uromastyx_Species.htm

here is the page about Uro Care..
http://www.deerfernfarms.com/Uromastyx_Care.htm

also free free to check out the rest of his site..he also breeds banana iguanas, chuckwallas, russian tortises, golden greek tortises as well as Bengal and Savannah Cats...

some of the pages are under contruction as he is working re-vamping his site and he is also working on a book about Uromstyx which I am very eagerly looking forward to..

wonder how easy is it to ship into canada...regarding live animals thats one thing you can look into as well if you find a certain reptile you like but can't find a local breeder for..

Uromastyx are very cool lizards we looked at bearded dragons but as soon as I met the Uros I was in love.

I actually think its rather difficult shipping in,,,I know with dogs and cats it is ALOT of work, ALOT of paperwork, vet statements, etc,,,,I dont think they do the quarantine at the border anymore though, ,,,

Im going to ask the reptile guy up here, hes supposed to call me back and let me know if theres any cornsnake breeders, Ill ask him then if he knows any Uro lizards,,,,are they common in the US?

They are starting to get more known but they are no where near as popular yet as bearded dragons and Leopard Geckos..but getting there more and more people are learning about Uros and enjoying them.
