It sounds like Bailey's been sneezing today. What's up with that? :shrug2:

Birds sneeze every once in awhile. Shelby sneezes more than our other birds. Sometimes they ... um... pick their noses (nares) with their toenails. We've trained ours not to do that at the dinner table. (couldn't resist!)

Really, it's normal.

Now, if the nares have a noticeable discharge, he may have a problem. But yes, picking their nares and occasional sneezing is normal. discharge is not. :)

No, no nose picking.. and definitely no drainage. Just an occasional "choo" coming from his general direction. Glad to hear it's normal.

Ditto, some sneezing is normal "Toos prob are more prone to it, they are affected by their " dusting" like we are too LOL

Like Shirley said ,watch for discharge,,,Then that would be time for concern,,,

I'm sure Bailey is fine, a dude(or dudette) that has been in the "wild" for as long as it probably has,is likely to be a tough lil bugger,,:agree:

I think the only one I've ever heard sneeze her is our macaw but she "picks" her nose LOL

yep they do..dry sneezes on ocassion can mean something in the nose or allergies..I have seen some of my birds sneeze then stick toenail in and dig around lol that has to hurt..but we sneezes are something to be concerned about if your bird sneezes and there is a wet discharge..time to schedule a vet visit ASAP

thanks for all the answers.. Bailey didn't seem concerned about the sneezes and they were the cutest little "choo's" I ever heard. He hasn't sneezed since this morning and there's no discharge, so I'm not going to worry.

Good point, Sadenna! Thank heavens Holly did not continue my chronic coughing! She sure had it down pat while I had it, though! So funny! She had a more "dainty" cough than I had, though!! Fortunately, she quit shortly after I did!

Ditto what everyone else said, mine sometimes sneeze after a big drink of water, sort of 4 or 5 on the trot, sounds really cute:rotflmao:
