Annie loves our son's corn snakes, and even had her own little corn snake, Maria. Maria, however, went over the Rainbow Bridge at one year of age when she got lost, and then was found stuck to the adhesive tape sticker under the sofa... :( Annie was heartbroken! She had her exactly a year... at our house b/c her father is terrified of snakes, but her mom loves them. She came over to care for her all the time. But, one time the lid was left open... :bawling:
She wanted you to see her with Sam and Ella, Troy's brother/sister corns, and Maria, her baby.

Corn snakes are usually very gentle.

Annie and Maria. Annie's middle name is Maria, btw.

These are "custom" colors! :D
They come in all sorts of colors, and none of these are the "normal" colors.

Has Sam&Ella laid their eggs yet?
Annie is such a sweet heart, I am so sorry to hear of her sad loss.

thats what one of our corns looks like they are called an Okeetee..I think they are more common and a base for your other colors or morph as they are called..we also have a snow corn..I love the cornsnakes and they can be addicting a they are so many colors to choose from that you want one of each color. My fave is one called the Candy Cany Corn it's red and white just like a candy cane, there there is the bubble gum snow corn has alot more pastel colors in it than a snow corns..my very fave is lavenar corn but they one of your more pricey corns..Okeetees and snows are more common but you get into some of your fancier colors and the price keeps going up I believe the lavendars are $100 or so...

Exactly! Troy's are the Okeetee and Annie's is a combo snow/red corn. Has the albino eyes. Red amelanistic but more snow. The father of the two of Troy's (Pitre) was a red amelanistic corn -- beautiful. He passed away of kidney cancer at teh age of 11. :( Their mother is a normal corn. One of his two is more normal color, but the Okeetee is in the photo.

There are so many colors of corn snakes out there, its almost scary, but the prices on the 'high end' ones are steadily coming down as more people begin to produce them. I have a few different ones, but my favorite by far is my opal corn, which is an albino phase of the lavendar. It isn't very apparent as babies, but as adults they get a beautiful irridescent opalescent sheen. It is incredible. :)

Shirley its so nice that you are so close with Annie. You can tell how much she loves being over your house. Maria was sooooooo cute!!!
My brother is a snake fanatic!!! Unfortunatley, his latest was an albino ........ boa......... It ended up dying too:( He likes all the really expensive snakes and collected kingsnakes for a while.
I've grown up with them as a kid(He always had them, cornsnakes and black racers he caught outside) He was even in the paper. I like them but something about feeding them mice just ugh....... I can't do it.

I love the big snakes but could never own one, they can be dangerous and require two or more people around when you are handling them when they reach full size..and even then they are to big to take and just play with thats why I like the corn snakes, Ball Pythons and Taiwan Beauties small and handleable and you can play with them anytime...I don't mind feeding mice as we do frozen thawed and buy in bulk...once in a while when we rund out of frozen thawed we do have to go buy live but hubby uses Co2 to put them out so they do not suffer...more and more breeders are raising snakes on frozen thawed plus live rodents can cause harm to snake fi the snake is not hungry it will not defend itself and some rodents have actually attacked and killed snakes..I have seen some nasty pictures of large snakes that have been attacked by Rats...plus with frozen thawed if you keep a number of snakes you don't have the rodent smell in your home..cousre then again friends tell you they will never eat anything out of your freezer again...lol even though the mice are sealed in their own bags..we actually keep our in the freezer in the garage.
