Green Rump Parrotlets!

These are our Green Rump Parrotlets!

We got this pair as youngsters in Florida a year ago while visiting Ginny.

They are very sweet and much less aggressive than the Pacific Parrotlets, but they are completely wild. They have begun checking out their nest box! http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/bof/smile.gif

Miss Green Rump is sitting on four eggs... I've no clue if they are fertile, however. Her last clutch was not. :shrug: Here's hoping! :heart: :emot-danc

They aren't very common in Indiana, either, and their eggs were sterile, by the way!

How are bluebell and sunshine doing?

Well, funny you should ask... Bluebell went inside the nestbox for the first time I've ever seen her do so today... the way she checked it out and hesitated, I think this was the first time. Later, they were both on top strutting around and acting "differently" toward each other. Now whether they'd set up housekeeping and start a family with two African Paradise Whydahs, three Bourke's, and a cockatiel remains to be seen... but there are two nest boxes in the flight and they've picked theirs out! :heart: :D

OH and they are just beautiful. They remind me of Easter. She got them at the show also and Sunshine we clipped his wings when we got him home and we was so tame. They are just beautiful little guys.

Yep, they're my little Easter egg birdies. They love each other and fly around the aviary. Bluebell comes up to the corner perch and talks to Steve during dinner! She's the one who wasn't tame, remember?

YEA ..... there they are. Sunshine is just beautiuful. she is the only yellow one I have ever seen and the blue on her wings is just so pretty.
