This is Sunshine, female American Yellow, a year old, from Florida when we visited Ginny last year, and Bluebell, female, a year old, from here in Indiana. We've had them both a year now, and they've been together since they were youngsters.

Bluebell is not tame, and she started to fly away just as I snapped her photo!

The two of them in the "photo studio set-up box" with a decorative birdhouse.

Bluebell is not biting; she's YAWNING!! http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I had to take a lot of pics to get these!

These guys are amazing! They now live in the large flight cage in the dining room with, get this (don't try this at home!) two male Bourke's, one female Bourke's, a male Cockatiel, and two Paradise Whydahs (males). I had this wild idea of trying that one day, b/c we had so many cages, and I wanted them up where I could see them and enjoy them... so I put them in there... a big no-no! Well, they never got in a fight with anyone, ever! And no one got in a fight with them! They've been like that for months! There are three feeding stations, plus the sprouts/veggies dish on the floor, and two watering stations, two nest boxes that no one uses but the parrotlets have claimed one from the outside only, and a coconut that Bluebell has claimed, three swings, one of which Tucker 'tiel has claimed as HIS swing, and they are just a riot to watch! Ginny-gin, both parrotlets, and one of the Papa Bourke's beg for food at dinner time... and we oblige them. When Dr. Cook saw this menagerie, she was a bit surprised and impressed they all got along. But there are ropes and swings and toys and ladders and a mini-boing... and lots of natural light.

Well, we have 4 "big" birds: Holly and Skyler, (CAG ang RB2) and Michelle and Play-Doh, African Red-Belly and Senegal (if you call them big, but they eat big bird food and they are a lot bigger than the little guys!) and then 13 little birds... Kilroy, our first Bourke's, who lives in our bedroom, makes #13.

Theyre cute  They remind me of lovebirds - are they better as aviary birds rather than tame house birds?

I love the picture I have in my head of that flight cage with all those toys, ropes, swing, etc. and the birds. Sounds like a nice setup, must be fun to watch and interact with them.:agree: :highfive:

It's fun to listen to them -- the all sing differently! The Whydahs have a beautiful "songbird" voice and sing really pretty. When Holly imitates the Bourke's, or Tucker 'tiel, it sounds like we have a 900 lb parakeet in the house!! :funny: All 6 parrotlets on in the living/dining room, but can't see each other... you should hear them when they start chattering back and forth at each other... sounds like a jungle! You know if you put them together, they'd fight to kill... VERY aggressive within their species... They get going about 2 or 3 times a day...

what wonderful birds they are, Bucc always sits on my shoulder when I'm on here and even he was sending wolf whistles. Don't think he could understand why they wouldn't talk to him. We both think that they are such cuties.
