Thank you everyone! And what a cute dance, Barb, you know I love penguins ;) That cake picture is hilarious, Shirley! Shadow and I have also become able to interact together with him in his cage now. The 'grab your finger' game has made it possible for me to now play "grab your beak" through the cage bars. Once I have his beak and rub it, he relaxes and leans against the corner of the bars so I can pet him through them. I'm allowed to pet his chest, legs and wing like this and if he's feeling good towards me, he will offer his head for me to rub as well. This is a big progress from him leaping off his cage on New Years eve night to attack me, piercing my lip (and not in a way I could stick jewelry in it!) or the many attacks he's made against my hands and arms if I'm trying to feed him or step him up from his cage. He's good anywhere else most of the time, even comes over to my bed and talks with me for hours, but his cage has been a big barrier between us until recently. I hope that we can eventually work back up to him stepping up to me from it again, but that's up to him. Right now, I'm just happy to be able to play with him and give pets on his terms.
