Won't be long before you have the fever, just remember that the fever lasts your whole life. I know I will be 90 on my knees scrubbing cages:doh: but they are worth it. Of course making a living working with parrots' help's make the work a little easier because I am home most of the time except when giving lectures or doing behaviors'. I have rehabilitated over five hundred birds in the last fifteen years. Kept the ones with the most difficult issues and they are all wonderful now:)

That's fantastic. I never dreamt I'd have a bird. Then bailey flew into our backyard... We had great aspirations of finding his owner, but by the time we figured out that wasn't going to happen we were already hooked.

Hi Shelly,
Welcome to the list! You have quite a crew of birds, don't know how you do it. Four is enough for me!

You guys are so very sweet and kind. Thank you all for the warm welcome:thanx: . I hope that I will be able to help out and establish friendships with all of you. Yes, I do a lot of work for Windy City Parrot and also for Jo's Exotic Birds in Kenosha WI. Those are the two main bird stores that I work with at this moment. I have my training courses out of Windy City and they also did the production of my video. For those of you who have not been to Windy City's site it is www.windycityparrot.com (http://www.windycityparrot.com) and they have great prices and wonderful toys as well as Jo's Exotic Birds, they changed their website so I can't give you the exact site you will have to do a search. Twelve parrots' is a lot of work but worth every moment of it. As for my Iguana he is a piece of cake except for the bite in the face that was not his fault, but their teeth are meant for tearing leaves so when he grabbed onto my face he really tore me up, even though he let go pretty quickly and dropped, which is not normal for a reptile. He is over five feet and weighs in at about twelve pounds so he is a big boy, and a Mommy's boy at that. Had to laugh because when I returned back to the vet to pick him up after spending the day having my face sewn up all the Doctors waited for me and they all said in a kind way they were glad it was me or they would be doing a euthanasia, I said "Where is my boy", not his fault in any way shape or form. Plastic surgeon says it is healing nicely but nothing more can be done for the scar for another eighteen months!!!!!! You really can't see it unless I point it out so that is a very good thing. I just tucked him into bed along with the birds for the night. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can get these bird stands' out and power washed, moved around because I just dropped another load of money for yet another stand. Obviously my addiction is to parrots' and their needs. Could be worse LOL!
Warmly,
Michelle
