I've come across a great author, Nancy Thayer, who has written some hilarious and "oh so true" books about a group of women who call themselves The Hot Flash Club. I've already read The Hot Flash Club, and The Hot Flash Club Strikes Again. Currently, I"m reading The Hot Flash Holidays and am nearly finished with it. Here are some links about the books and about the author. Check them out if you're interested.

She's written other books as well, but I haven't read them, so can't comment. If you're menopausal (pre or post) you'll enjoy these stories.

Just finished Hot Flash Holidays. It was just as good as the first two. The next one is The Hot Flash Club Chills Out.

Makes me wish I had a club like that to belong to.

That sounds a laugh Vicki:rofl:

Here's a tip for "ladies of a certain age" ;)
In Japan they don't even have a translation for "hot flashes" (we call them hot flushes here) because they don't get them!!!
Apparently it's all down to their diet which heavily features soya, grains and oily fish.

I adopted this by including those things in my diet and guess what have been virtually symptom free:woot: (Hope i'm not tempting fate here:funny: )
It's phyto oestrogens which occur natually in some food which is natures oestrogen.
Basically as we lose our oestrogen it is replaced naturally by these foods. So no need for HRT.
Here's a list if anyone's interested.

Lentils ( I eat these by the shedload, mainly in soups.)
Nuts
Seeds (especially linseeds)
Soya
Cranberries
Citrus fruits
Chickpeas
Parsley
Oily fish
Legumes & beans
Cherries/plums
