Augie the magnificent breeder *and* pet of my dear friend Pam who raises Gouldians, Amazons, and used to raise Spanish Timbrado Canaries and African Greys. She is getting on in years, and is caring for her elderly mother, so is no longer raising so many birds, but she is a very careful breeder, and a parrot behavior consultant.

Here is her magnificent pet and breeder Augie, whose photo I took and edited for her a few weeks ago:

And here is an unedited pose - isn't he just the most charming bird?!

This was Augie's first photo session, and he was a splendid poser! http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/bof/woot.gif He is about 7 years old and is a Double Yellow Head Magna Amazon. He talks and sings opera!

Beautiful Augie, pet to a friend of mine, father some gorgeous babies again this summer. I haven't had a change to go see them... as he's about an hour away.

What a gorgeous Augie! He is magnificient! I notice that he has quite a bit more red on his shoulders than Romeo. Do they get more red as they get older? I read someplace that they get more yellow on their heads as they get older. Since I don't know how old Romeo is, I just thought I would ask, maybe Romeo is not as old as I thought????
Augie is truly a masterpiece of God's handiwork!

Augie is extra magnificent color-wise b/c he is the "magnum" subspecie of double yellow head. I don't know a lot about that, but that's what the breeder/owner told me, and he is her bird, not mine. :) I might add, fyi, his "eggs" are sold before they are laid every year!

Shirley-When I went to see Augie's pics, there were two white boxes with red x's in them. I can't see the pics, do you know why? Anne

Hi Anne, :scratchch I see the pics fine. :scratchch Have you had this happen before. I'm sorry I can't help you. Shirley should drop in soon to give her input.

Thanks Jean-I just went to see "fish from the keys" thread, and there were little boxes with red x's in them on that too. Uh oh, Erin just popped by and said it's a "broken image"? So, Shirley, how do I fix it? Anne

EDIT: The problem isn't our computer, it's the image. Either that or we don't have the software to see it... Wherever it's being hosted, the wrong URL was posted, which results in the box with the x, also known as a "broken image". So, it's probably a small typing error.

I understand what you are saying about the red boxes in the pics from the keys thread. That is all I see now too, I agree, the pic link has been broken. However, I can see these pics in this thread perfectly. Can you see them now?

Normally, that would indicate that I have removed the pics from my webserver, and that Ginny removed the fish from her server, but I haven't. They are still there. So, I have no idea why you are getting the red X's. If you right click the red x and then left click on properties, what do you see as the path (URL) to the pics?

Do you have your browser set to not display images from other sites perhaps? What browser do you use? (IE, Firefox, etc?) Are you seeing other pics on the site that people post?

Very odd indeed... I get red X's with IE, but not with firefox... let me try something... Was everyone else seeing these with IE? Jean? IE? or were you using firefox (mozilla)

Also, regarding Ginny's... I've no clue, unless her website doesn't allow hotlinking (which is what Greg and Jeff have done)

Going to see if I can fix mine for IE...

EDIT: Ok.. it works for IE now. Is it working for you, too? I can't fix Ginny's. Evidently, hotlinking is disabled by her server. You have to view the fish from the direct link she provided in her first post of the thread.

Thanks Jim! I will pass your compliments on to my friend!

Ginny -- the pics we can't see are the ones that Jeff and Greg linked later on the last two pages, ID'ing the fish. Can you see those? I can't on either browser. :shrug2: I can see your pics on your site, however.

That is strange. I can see them all. But the other day there were a lot of red X's even Jean's picture had a red X but then later when I came back on it was working so I just thought it was her site that might have been down. I don't know why you can't see them. I have not moved them and didn't change anything. Can you see them if you go to the link and look at them?

Hmmmmm I don't have any idea :scratchch

Yes, I can. I only can't see the link to them here. I can see them on your site.
