I felt like i needed to post here again, Since many of you might not know that much about me, and of my "promotion" since joining BOF just recently.
My name is Jeff-junkzoo on both TRT-The Reef Tank ,and here on BoF.
I have been a member on TRT since '01 ,just after i was recovering from spinal fusion surgery.bottom three verts fused to the tail bone,,so i had plenty of "board time" to spend.I met Shirley thru TRT ,and we both found out we were a lot alike in our pet line-up .To backtrack a bit, "Junkzoo" came from the fact that my wife and myself both collect "stuff", My wife- Snow White and 'specially Dopey items(one whole room converted/dedicated to it),myself, old radios, old cool stuff,(my tractor used to mow the grass is a restored "52 Ford 8n)and we both like to go to auctions, and pick up things that catch our eye.And the "Zoo" part,,well you can all figure that one out LOL, 5 birds,4 mini-doxies,2 German Shepherds (at last count LOL) everything but my 'Too,and BFA were adoption/rescues.Dang! i almost forgot my Salt water aquariums! (like i could forget about those!) A 75 gallon Reef tank w/fish(corals and living stuff in it + fish, for those not in the hobby) and a 180 gallon FO (Fish only) tank.and a 200 gallon tank waiting in the garage for me to put in my basement ,as soon after i remodel it,,,:foot-tap: :foot-tap:
After a few years ,and many posts on TRT , i was asked to be a "Super-Mod" on TRT, For which i felt honored, and gladly accepted. I learned the "ropes" on the mod'ing thing, and fast forward to just recently,,I saw on TRT that we now had a sister board,,,this one. Of course i joined, and found out Shirley and Greg, amoung others had a hand in getting this "new" board going, and saw that other members from TRT had joined here ,and most i knew had birds also.
so it felt like a old family here right off the bat, even tho i felt welcome here anyway with my new family here;) .
Since i was familiar with TRT's board, and the fact that BoF's is pretty much a mirror of TRT's(we have better smilies here tho LOL)I asked the powers that be around here, if i could be of any help,,,Shirley knew a lot about me ,over the years, and Greg knew i had birds also. and i was asked to help by being a Mod here on BoF.Had thoughts that i could not divide my time from TRT ,not to mention my daily life schedule, to devote time to another board. but seeing that the boards were pretty much the same format, and you all are so friendly(like TRT's members are)I felt i would give it a try...and happy to admit, it's been so much fun so far conversing with all of you. We have a LOT of very knowledgable people out here, in all forms of bird keeping. I've learned a lot from this board already of things i did not know (after being in the multi-pet hobby for ummm 40 yrs,,,we had dogs, birds, fish, since i could remember)and managing a pet shop for a number of years(partly to finance my "habit" LOL),and being a part time fish collector in the Keys(20 'ish yrs ago)and to being a co-owner of a salt water only shop, i thought i knew enough to help beginners in most aspects of the pet world,,but after reading up on a lot of posts here,,,,,wow! did i ever learn some more about birds!:thanx:

Sorry for the long story, just wanted to convey a lil bit about me to those who did not know much of me,,,,,
Thanks!

RICK! Is that you????
Yup.:)

Casey and Max are the reason I can't have birds. To them birds are food, not friends.

My Sister used to raise finches. She wants to get canaries for her new house. I told her about this forum.

I have a friend who raises canaries...

You oughta post those nest in the grill pics here... and the story how you couldn't drive your truck... in Squawk 'n Talk... Did they all hatch and fly away?

The man on the far left was almost crying his heart out when this pic was taken. He was the man I bought it from before I sent it out to be painted.

Shirley asked me to share a picture of my 65 corvette.

Ummm Jean? thinking it's a typo,,,,thats a lil newer than a '65,,,;)
Cool looking car!:agree: Takes me back to when i was a mechanic at a Chevy dealership,,,,i had to road test ALL the vettes,,,even if it was in to replace a trim piece for the interior,,,,:shrug2: :funny:
Only Vette i owned was a '84,in '85. Still have my '65 Mustang fastback since i restored it in '79:wub:
My Dad has a lot of antique autos, lastest one is a 1940 Cadillac convertible sedan 75(i believe) series, one of 40 cars made, 17 accounted for,,longer than a aircraft carrier,,,LOL
Thanks for the pics

Thanks Jeff, I do like my veter. Al and I have had several in the past. If you look at the white rear end of the one in the larger pic it was Al's sharp looking 84. I never liked how it rode. Mine has all the new suspension under it so it gives a good ride. An " Elvie approved" ride. LOL

Your mustang sounds beautiful, they are very sought after as well. It sounds like your dad has a rare vehicle there. Those are a truly untouchable find. Sometime when you get the time I'd love to see some pics of both your mustang and your dads cars.
