Adding machine tape provides hours of play!

All our parrots enjoy a roll of adding machine tape! The rip it, pull it, dunk it in their water bowls, just have a ball with it! We hang it in their cages and on their tree stand. Holly (CAG) spends hours chewing it into tiny bits and dragging it all over the floor of her cage. She also loves to dunk it in her water bowl!

Yes basil has a toy to put that stuff on, but she has the whole lot off in 10 mins!

I actually have a adding machine tape holder that goes onto the bars of the cage it's great...my birds love it.

While visiting Shirley today, i saw the adding machine "toys".Looked like they loved to play with it.
Need to dig out a box of add. mach. paper rolls i have somewhere i got at a auction and introduce it to my parrots, i think Sinbad my 'Too, will probably unroll the whole thing right away, and laugh at me when i find it all over his cage!:eek: :roflmao2:

When i was at a shop the other day, i saw a roll of adding machine paper with a bird type retainer holding it,,,,was a lot more $$ than if you found/or got a roll yourself and fixed it up for the cage,,,,:doh:

All of my birds love the adding tape from my tiels to Sammy the too. I usually use cotton rope and beads to hang it but I think I'm going to buy a couple holders they have some on Ebay that spin and rattle, They look pretty neat.Try it, I bet your guys will love it. It is messy but they sure have fun.:)

:doh: Not sure how I missed this one, but thanks for the idea, will have to give that a try, Bucc loves to shred paper and will just looooooove the mess he can make. LOL

Yep, Oscar loves it too. He'll unroll the whole thing within minutes though!

Our Bailey just loves to play with his tape. He also likes to climb through the coils of paper on the bottom of the cage.

Our Harley loves to shred adding machine paper too. I have started using hemp cord, plastic beads and my old Macrame skills to make hangers. Here's a pic of the last one I made. He bit through the plastic ring, so I threaded it onto a carabiner and it's still in his cage. Rather than untie all the knots, I'll probably just cut the old one apart and re-use the beads (or add new ones) and tie up another one when he runs out of paper. Hemp cord was about $3 for a big roll and I only use a few feet of it per hanger. Perhaps I'll figure out a way to make a "quick disconnect' so I can replace the roll without having to chop up the hanger. This is the first hanger that I haven't had destroyed in no time. Before I was using leftover bits of cotton rope or leather that came off other toys.

Anyway.. I'm long-winded as always... here's a picture of it :)
