This is the Shower stand we made for our birds. It's just the height I need so I don't get a back ache giving the birds a shower with the extension sprayer we use to wash the dog. It is also the width between the double sinks on our bathroom counter top. Note the end-cap to keep water from entering the PVC tubes. Nothing is glued together so we can take it all apart to transport it easily when we travel.

Here it is with the end-cap removed, and the bar placed across the top with a toy attached. We use it like this when we visit friends or relatives for a few hours... it gives the birds a place to sit and a toy to play with. We only had one parrot when we built this, and we usually don't take all three when we make a 2-3 hr visit to friends' homes anyway. The end cap is circled in red. I took Shelby to school with me twice, and she was content to sit on this stand most of the day and watch the kids, play, and nap. Again, the whole thing comes apart and fits nicely in a groceray sack. We used a router to rough up the perching bar so she wouldn't slip.

Wow! Thats nice. What a great idea for the shower. I made one for Millie and it was fairly easy to do. It is very inexpensive to make.

Thanks, Shar. I should add that the red band on the PVC pipe is a pony tail holder that she picks at.

Shirley, I just showed this to Al, he's going to make a shower one for Elvie. It is the best shower stand we've seen.

 Cool! I had Steve make it so I can sit on my knees, thighs straight up, with my back perfectly straight, not leaning over at all, to prevent lower back ache or shoulder ache... ;)

I like it because it's so universal.

Nice Shirley, I like it! My guys are such nut boys in the shower they wanted to be on my arm more than the perch because they could grip my arm and act crazy. What I did was put the rubber insulation stuff around the PVC. It's the stuff you use around your air conditioning and water lines to keep then from sweating. Lowes or most hardware stores carry it and it's not expensive. Any type of vinyl or plastic tape wrapped around the ends keeps it in place. It's soft (easy grip) and doesn't absorb water from outside. You would need a separate piece of PVC for the shower but it's not clued so no biggy.

You can see it in the attached picture. Thought I'd share this in case some one has a bird that doesn't do well on a shower perch. This helped here, they enjoy the perch and can go crazy with less fear of falling.

Wow thats great, I wish Bucc would go into the shower, instead he goes into his water bowl and only the one on his playstand so we have a lovely mess. At the moment I am taking him up to the bathroom and let him stand on the edge of the bath, hopefully later we will progress to him being in the bath without water, then water and hopefully the last stage will be a shower, time will tell. At the moment we will I have to spray him and you should hear the noise. I'll have to show him these photos and maybe. When I get him to like the shower I'll have to make one of those. They look brilliant with many uses. Well done Shirley
