<!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message -->Go to your user CP to turn that off. User CP is the 2nd choice from the left on the green menu bar between The Bird Forums and FAQ.
Once you are there, look at the side bar on the left.
Under the heading "Settings & Options" choose "Edit Options" and click that.
You'll see on the right side a divided screen, look at the lower half: "Messaging and Notification".
Read the choices and select or deselect the boxes there to turn on or turn off various settings.
