I didn't want Holly to feel "left out" every time she sees me walk out the door with my camera! I took these this morning... after a heavy rain last night.

The colors are beautiful. May I ask what kind of camera you use? Your pictures are wonderful.

some of my photos are taken with my Olympus C 5050 5MegaPixel camera... I never ever use the digital zoom, only the optical zoom. I use a flash on most to stop the action... even when they are sitting still. It's a quick and easy to use camera, and small... fits in my hand.

If I plan to perhaps print my photos as large prints > 8x10, then I try to have the Fuji S1-Pro handy... it's a larger heavier camera, SLR with removable lenses, a much more complicated flash and other settings, and I always have to take a few w/o the bird to make sure the lighting is correct, etc, get that all set... then put the bird in the shot. If the sun changes, I have to change the camera settings manually. It has automatic mode, which is pretty much useless. I rarely use the flash unless I have to. The two above were taken with the S1-Pro w/no flash. The best shots are taken when it's a little overcast and not bright spots w/dark shadows.

Every "keeper" photo I take goes through photoshop to make sure the lighting and color are correct, and to crop them, resize them, rename them, etc.

The Fuji S1-Pro uses Nikon lenses... it has a Nikon body.
