Hello
To make my intro easy, I am Shirley's favorite pet, This way some of you will recognize my name and/or picture.
I have taught at Noblesville HS for 32 years in the Industrial Tech (shop) or Business classes.
I guess the two who have adopted me the most are Kilroy, a Bourke's Parakeet and Michelle, a Red-Bellied Parrot.
I don't talk much, as a matter of fact I have talked a lot already. If I don't see some of the posts, Shirley will show me many of them.
Have fun on this new board, talk to you later.
Steve
Hi Steve! Nice to meet you! He spoke! I think I am going to faint! HEHE! All kidding a side...thank you for sharing your wonderful wife with us! We truly appreciate her kindness as well as her devotion to the birds!

I FEEL AS THOUGH I ALREADY KNOW YOU, I'VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT THE FAMILY FROM SHIRLEY.

:wavey: Steve, it is a lovely surprise to see you join. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/jeanaskins/welcome%20-%20friendship/thWelccomewreath.gif
I'm glad you like the new board. I hope to have you share some of Michelle's growing up with us. :emot-danc
You sound more and more like AL every time I read and hear about you. He does not like to get on the comp either, rather not talk on the phone unless the conversation is meaningful to him. He's a fabulous listener though.
Thanks, for taking the step. :highfive:

You're absolutely right, Jean... Steve and Al are alike in their conversational styles!
And here's Steve with Dr. Cook's 13-yr-old Moluccan, Merlin - and Merlin just loved Steve on sight!

What a great picture. Thanks for sharing, Shirley. Welcome to the group, Steve. My hubby is Greg. Shirley has probably said his name once or twice. Not sure in what context considering all the work they did to put this forum together. :agree: From what Shirley says, you really have a way with birds. Very cool.

Dr. Cook rescued Merlin when he was six. He bit everyone, including her. He was pretty ferocious, and Moluccans are the Big Daddy of cockatoos! With Clicker Training, she worked wonders with him! She's had him 7 yrs now, and she is his forever home. He's fully flighted, and only caged when she is not home and when he's asleep at night. He goes to work with her 1/2 her work day. She has 3 dogs and 5 cats, too, all rescues.
