This here kitty means the world to me, he is my JOY. There was a time in my life when I was surrounded by darkness and unable to live life to the fullest. My dear pastor Mack, prayed hard for me--to have Joy back in my life again. A few weeks after he prayed with me, there was a knock on the door--two elderly people were standing there with a tiny fluff ball in the lady's hands. I was so surprised when they said here is your kitty! My sweet husband had arranged for them to bring him to me as an early birthday present, he knew how much I loved cats and had been w/o one for a very long time(about 10 years). We named him Angel, as to me he was one--and he loved jumping onto the very top of the front door! http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/bof/yikes.gif I have no idea how he managed to do that!
His birthday is September 6th and he will then be 5 years old. He weighs in at a whopping 22 pounds and we are trying to lose a few of those! http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif I can't imagine life without my Angel http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/bof/heart.gif

awwww Missi, what a neat story. I firmly believe everything happens for a reason!! Even pets in our lives can be such a blessing.....God knows, that's why he made them ;)

Akeela came into my life about the same way. In Nov of 2002 my mom died, and was struggling w/some things, not too long after they ended my p.t. wed night position at church to bring in an intern. I was so devistated because that program was such a part of me and felt like I had lost my mom and then lost my job, which I loved doing so much. I felt like everything was coming down on me. So hubby & I then we talking about adding another addition to our family. He got Akeela for me because he KNEW she would cheer me up and add another purpose to my life. Since then, I have been able to use my birds for a ministry to reach kids. We were able to participate in the kids church by bringing our birds for the lesson. I'm starting a bird ed class in our area. Going to churches and schools. This has been my mission I believe God has set on my heart. I so love how he knows our needs and provides :thumbup:

Loved your story of how Angel came into your life. Pets definitely can give us support and love. They seem to sense when we need it the most.

Awww Missi, and Barb, I love reading both your heartbreaking and heartwarming stories. It makes me happy to know how you both had precious furry and feathered companions come into your life. Gods, little creatures can bring us the best things in life. I am sure there are times most of us find a need for comfort.
