Hello all. My name is Larry J and I have been a caregiver for many years (since 1988) to these wonderful critters we call Cockatoos. At one time I had 8 Cockatoos and 2 Eclectus. I have had to trim my flock down due to some setbacks so now I only have 2 soon to be only one. :( I love these guys so darn much that if I had the time and finances I would have hundreds of them! lol (can you tell I am out of my mind?) I would like to thank Bill for the gracious invitation to join and look forward to sharing thoughts, pics, and much more in the years to come.

Hi Larry, :Happywave I am so excited to see you here. I can see we have a lot in common. :biggthump I am another cockatoo lover. I have been fascinated by them for years. I have enjoyed spending countless hours for the past 11 years, reading and studying their natural ability and how they display their natural charactoristics in captivity as well as in the wild as a flock member.

We only have one male U2 however, I have provided temporary care in the past for a few others that had been abused.

I can't wait to hear all about your babies and see some pics.

Here is another picture of my Elvie sporting his new jacket while perching on his travel/play carrier.

Sue S .. yes.. I used to frequent another board.. and you are correct.. I had 4 M2s, 2 U2s as well as 2 G2s and 2 male Eclectus at one time. 3 of the 4 M2s were wild born and all had been abused :( (you would never guess it though if you had seen them after being with me for awhile) lol can you say "spoiled rotten?":D I do have some pics and will post after I make them small enough to fit the rules here.
Thanks to all of you that welcomed me in such a nice way I look forward to hearing and sharing many stories of being owned by birds. :emot-danc :thanx:

Actually it wasn't so bad.. having a 3,500 sq. ft. split level home probably helped.:D Now I am in a 33 ft. 5th wheel travel trailer so that might make for a problem if I still had them all.:shrug2: They were...happily for them, as they were given good homes.. (all but my first two that were stolen and given to a breeder!! and 1 U2 that was also stolen and taken out of state and therefor lost to me:( )... sad for me.. rehomed when I lost the house due to some unforseen circumstances.. but life goes on.
