Been searching for video and such of Macaws (still looking to find B&G) but came across this. Found it interesting to know how they progress in a matter a couple weeks. Helps to relate, even though the HY is much bigger than a B&G.
One thing I noticed is when it was still young and clumsy, is it fell on his crop a couple of times. I thought this can be dangerous as it can force the food up and asperate from it??
Found this ...B&G babies (http://www.minnichsbirds.com/blue_gold_macaws.htm), awwwwwww and Greys (http://www.minnichsbirds.com/congo_greys.htm)too awwwwwww

Awwwwwwwwwww Barb they are precious. Was showing hubby and he said when we have a macaw it will be the hyacinth macaw!!!!! Oh yeah. Don't think he meant it though. They are beautiful, so are the B&G and definately the greys:heart: They are great sites and wonderful babies. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks for the link Barb!
Yup, a Hyacinth is one of my favorite birds, hopefully one day i might be lucky enough to get one! With Powerball here being at a new record level this week, I might have a chance,,,if i win the big bucks!:shrug2: :agree:
(Boy, would that be something? tomorrow morning i open the paper,,read the winning Powerball numbers, and find out i won?,,,That would be a great way to start the day,,,calling into to work, tellnig them i would not be in,,,since i'll be extending my vacation,,,til ,,,,forever! and them draw up some plans for the new house, complete with a huge aviary(indoors of course)and pick out my new baby Hyacinth, and Grey,,,and many, many more fids to add to my flock here,,,
I can dream can't I?:scratchch
Thanks again Barb, for the link!

Oh wouldn't that be great Jeff,
Yep Hyacinth is my hubbys favourite too, keep telling him he could have one, but as yet he hasn't taken the bait, not that I would take him away from Hubby:foot-tap:
These are adorable... Good links!
Even the larger cockatoos close to a year old will be playing and loose concentration and fall from a perch. Elvie fell off his tree at 8 months old that way and scared the "wits" out of me. thatwas a long hard fall. He landed on his back and knocked part of wind out of himself. So I padded under his tree and put heavy clear plastic over the padding in case it happened again.
Cool sites Barb. Those sure are some cute babies.
I've never heard of a baby aspirating from falling on their crop. Suppose anything is possible especially if they fell hard. I doubt just being clumsy and falling around would aspirate them. If so I think we'd hear more about it.
