This is Christy, our cat -- she loves Trevor, our son who will be a Junior at IU fall '05. She is 8 yrs old and was rescued from the Indpls humane society as a scrawny baby kitten.

She also loves Jeff, aka Junkzoo. :rolleyes: He just doesn't understand her feline ways of showing affection. ;)

oh shirley she is goreous...I love the colors on her Tortishell right?? I love them my other fave cats are RagDolls, Abyssinians,Pixiebobs, Bengals and I love Savannah Cats.

What's a Savannah cat?

Christy is sort of a Tortoise/Calico, but more Tortoise, and more Main Coon in her conformation/build. she was a little waif of a thing when we brought her home from the humane society. She and Sonja LOVE each other and she gives Sonja baths like Sonja is her kitten! :funny:

A Savannah cat is a cross between African Serval and Domestic Cat...very beautiful cats with the Serval look but you get domestic house cat personality if you click on the link it will take you to a picture of a Savannah which is the first picture on the page. We know this person personally he also raises and breeds the Uromastyx Lizard along with Bengal cats just this past year was the first year for Savannahs for him.

Thank you! Yes, she is absolutely as mellow as she looks! Every great once in awhile, she and Sonja will race through the house, but not very often anymore. Sonja still races around like a puppy, but Christy doesn't. Christy loves Trevor, our younger son, and basically lives in his bedroom waiting for his infrequent returns from IU. She also comes into our bedroom each night for cuddles.

Sadenna ~ Those cats are stupendously beautiful! As a child, I dreamed of having an ocelot! (and a baby elephant!) Wow! How much does a Savannah cost?? Well, it's out of the question now with birds in the family... but they sure are beautiful, and so regal!! :thanx:

Well his F1( first generation) females went for $8,000 but as they get further in generation the price will come down he has F3 males for $1,500 but F3 males are sometimes sterile...I would not go for a first generation savannah due to they are still so close to the serval I would like to have one eventually but would rather wait for F5-F6 generation not as costly and more towards domestic cat. Bengal cats are the same way asian Leopard and domestic house cat mix...breeders won't seel a F1-F3 bengal for a household pet as they are still so close to the asian leopard cat but breeders recommend F5-F6 Bengals as pets for households as they are well into domestic house cat personality...either breed of cat does well with other household animals if they are raised around them but supervision is still a must..the further along in generation you go the more house cat personality your going to get but you still get the exotic cat look, bengals and savannahs are wonderful temperment and personality sometime down the road I would like to have one or the other right now leaning more towards the Savannah always wanted serval but dont' have room for one but getting one thats half serval and half house cat you get a large house cat that looks exotic..lol
