It's only 100 gallons, has three water lilies, a few frogs who found their way to live here, and some yellow irises and other water plants, and has been most enjoyable!

She's mellowed! Doesn't bite Steve much anymore... although I was eating a banana the other day, she smelled my hand, and wham-o! nailed me a good one!

Our house has always been a kid-magnate where ever we've lived. In Louisiana, it was filled with various reptiles, amphibians, and had llamas in the back yard! :D

This is our pond from last summer:

I made this "pond website" last year to show how I made this pond all by myself. Steve didn't want to have to take care of a pond, and I promised he wouldn't have to. So on Father's Day I dug the pond, put it in, did it all in a day by myself!! and I put the dirt in an area by our shed that keeps the lawn equipment and that's where I planted a bunch of daylillies and other perrenials.

The pics range over a period of time... not just one day. http://9.forumer.com/html/emoticons/bof/smile.gif

And here is some of the wildlife it attracted, although the chipmunks have always been around our house.
Yes... that frog is REAL!

The diversity of pets is mindblowing! And they all have a super disposition ,and endearing quality about them!
Looking forward to my trip down "south" to visit them in a few weeks,,ought to be a blast!(i'll bring my camera, to share pics of the visit, I know Shirley will have the camera out too, kind of a blackmail thing we have going on LOL)

It isn't the size of the pond that matters, it's the beauty it relishes. I like your small pond and your fish are beautiful. Especially, that visiting chipmunk and frog. It's a miracle you got those good shots of them.

I can just read the thoughts of that little chipmunk, It looks like a cool and refreshing place, I wonder if they allow fishing?

Thanks, Jean! You see it just like I do... my little oasis of beauty and nature in a subdivision...! I was raised on a farm with a creek and a woods... and that's what I see every day in my imagination!

The chipmunks have lived around our home every year now for 7 years! They have little tunnels around the pond.

The irises are all budded now and just about to bloom! I can't wait and will take pics as soon as they do!

The water lilies have lily pads that have reached the surface of the water, but no buds yet, and the parrot feather plant survived the winter and is beginning to spread... I thought it had died...

I'd love to see them in bloom. I am not sure what a parrot feather plant is? It certainly sounds beautiful.

I'll post a pic. It has little fluffy feathery (no pun!) fronds that stick out of the water. It's a shelf plant.
