Here's where we can all post those links that, while unrelated to birds, are very useful and that everyone should be aware of.
Free Image Hosts
Put pictures of your birds or whatever else online without owning your own webspace! Post thumbnails that link to pictures too big for the forums!
www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) - allows hotlinking to any forum, with the [img] tags automatically generated for you. Makes thumbnails of large images. If you create an account, you can keep track of any images you've uploaded to the site before. supports .jpg, jpeg, .gif, .png .bmp, .tif, .tiff, and .swf files. Nothing X-rated allowed, but copyrighted material isn't bothered with.
www.uploadhouse.com (http://www.uploadhouse.com) - all the same features as Imageshack, but no support for .swf (flash) files, and you can't log into an account to find images you've uploaded before. A "See random image" button is included so you can see what other people are uploading (warning: inappropriate content may show up). The server is sometimes significantly faster than Imageshack.
www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) - account creation is compulsory, and strict regulations regarding explicit or copyright material. No .swf support. All other features the same as imageshack. Provides the best layout for quickly finding pictures you've uploaded before.

What is YouTube?
YouTube is a way to get your videos to the people who matter to you.
With YouTube you can:
Upload, tag and share your videos worldwide
Integrate YouTube with your website using video embeds or APIs
Reference Resources
en.wikipedia.org (http://en.wikipedia.org) - THE online encyclopedia, available in over 20 languages. As with all wiki communities, visitors have the opportunity to add to and edit the content pesent, though it has a huge moderating staff to prevent malicious destruction of articles or implantation of false material. The English version boasts some 533,000 individual entries
maps.google.com (http://maps.google.com) - I expect this will surpass mapquest.com in popularity. It gives directions from point A to point B the same way, but the map graphics are more easily navigable and offer satellite photogragh images if you prefer them to the typical view.
www.imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com) - What was that one movie Woody Allen directed? No, he didn't act in it... oh, I forget. Have I really seen every single movie that Harrison Ford appeared in? Find out these answers - and more - with IMDB, the Internet Movie DataBase. Search by movie title, actor name, director name, etc. Write your own reviews and read those left by others.
www.leo.org (http://www.leo.org) ( http://www.leo.org/leo_home_en.html for English site) - perhaps I'm getting too specific here... This site offers the best German-to-English or vice versa Dictionary that I've ever found on the web. Sure, babelfish.altavista.com (http://babelfish.altavista.com) offers translation services, but is crude. When Babelfish considers "A little bit" and "A small chewed" to mean the same thing, it's time to go back over the confusing parts of the original text with a better resource such as leo.org. Hopefully other members will share similar resources for other languages.
www.allmusic.com (http://www.allmusic.com) - The ultimate online music *information* and *discovery* resource. Note that www.amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) often has more CDs available for purchase, and the best resources for legal MP3s are the store that comes with the iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) player and www.napster.com/ (http://www.napster.com/) . What allmusic lets you do is find albums by the most obscure artists, find music from similar bands, find music one of the same musicians made in a different band, and listen to samples of songs (if you create an account). You can browse music by New Releases, Mood, Genre, Theme, Instruments, or Country of origin, for those of you who really wanted rock played on the saxaphone in the Netherlands.

Ah, geez... I've got little kids over and they want to play online... where can I send them that's safe? Even in games.yahoo.com (http://games.yahoo.com) they might see something inappropriate in the chat window. One good answer: http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ . Achingly cute, calming music, and lots of games to choose from.
Please feel free to contribute the useful websites that you keep going back to! :)
