Hi Charlotte and Welcome to BoF :)
I'm Kristie from the Isle of Wight in the sunny south :D, where about's do you hail from?
Do you own a kakariki or are you thinking of owning one? I don't know much about them myself I'm afraid....I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you some advice though.
Hi Charlotte welcome to the board.:wavey:
I'm from sunny Yorkshire:agree:
Can't help much on the Kakariki's, did you find us from Parrots Magazine? I seem they did an article on them recently, I'll see if I can find which issue.

Welcome Charlotte! We're so happy to have you here!
"Lilbaypony" aka Emma has a kakariki, a young one. You might do a search here on the green bar above, third item from the right, for Kakariki and her posts will show up.
Here are two links about Kakarikis as pets:

Welcome Charlotte, and as usual, Shirley is close at hand with answers. She is a real gem, always ready to help. You might want to check out Majj's posts, I thought she had something concerning Kakarikis. Anne

Hi Charlotte,
Kakarikis are part of the parakeet family and are cute, interesting little birds to say the least, they have lots of energy and don't like to stay in one place very long they are here and there and into this and that. A Friends of ours have a kakariki and she is very hyper she does not sit still she is constantly doing something or into something, she does talk and make the cutest little noises she also taunts the other birds by going by their cages and laughing at them.
like the rest of our birds they require of diet of a good quality seed mix, some pellets, lots of fresh veggies with some fruit, you can offer cooked foods and lots of leafy greens...
They are hyper so the larger the cage the better with lots of toys and plenty of time out of the cage to wear of some of that energy bar spacing should not be any bigger than half inch.
