Elvie's baby egg!

Elvie has been having hormonal love issues the past several days. Poor baby, he has been clinging to me like glue. I tried to redirect his frustration by giving him a new baby. You would not believe this happy little boy of mine when I told him this was his new baby. He loves it, cuddles and kisses it and tries to sit on it like any good birdie parent would do with their egg. Talk about natural instinct, He has never seen a bird nest or egg in his life.

Elvie loves his new baby boiled egg! I made him his cuddley nest to be in with his baby.

Thank you Lana! He doesn't miss getting many experiences being an only child, and we are home with him most of the day. We also take him many places with us. Elven when I worked he went with me. We always strive to keep his mind occupied.

:thanx: all! :highfive: What surprises me, is how his natural instincts took over the minute I gave him a boiled egg.

Leah, he watches me put it in the refrigerator, he accepts that, he has learned that is where it comes from next time. I exchange it for a fresh boiled each time he gets one. He loves his baby Elvie eggs. LOL  You can tell it is natural for them to recognize an egg.

That is so cute Jean. I'd not seen this, saw Shirley mention it to Gary so I had to come look.

Elvie is the greatest !!!

Thanks Jim, What I enjoyed the most was watching him use his natural instincts. He actually acted as though he knew what it was, pushed it under him and sat on it.

Hi Jean, Nino is only 4 1/2 now but this year he acted like a teenager. If you touched him in the right place he would raise his tail and sometimes hunker down. Seemed a little nippy, territorial, and sometimes didn't like Sharon around when he was with me. I don't think he was really hormonal but it sure seemed like something was going on. I think it was more like a new experience or feeling for him than full hormonal. Confused maybe. That's why I relate it to teenager. lol

Next year I may be talking to you about hormonal parrots since Elvie is all grow up. I have heard of people buying those ceramic eggs for their birds.
