Hermes is a pied, possibly fawn, lightback Zebra finch. I adopted him and his brother from a bird rescue as teeny little babies that had just weaned. We originally thought them to be females and Hermes was Andromeda, but when they started singing and those red spots showed up, we knew we had two boys!

Here are pics of Hermes:

Their song is unique, because they taught themselves, having left their father too early to learn his. They kinda sound like woody woodpecker. I love listening to them and they beep and chatter at me when I talk to them. They're always happy to see it's food time! They eat Roudybush pellets and a vitamin zebra finch seed and veggie mix. If Hermes ever can't find Radar, he will beep until his brother calls him (I sometimes let them out to fly around the bedroom with the door closed and totally supervised) then he'll join his brother wherever he is.
