Good morning all!~ I was up early as I was eager to open my kiln and see how the stuff turned out...always a surprise! Nothing blew up or apart this time! Glory be! I am always mixing clays and thickness so much, sometimes things just explode! I have been experimenting with some clay I dug out of a local clay site..and have been adding fieldspar and other chemicals to get it to hold together and actually be useful..think it would be fun to make some stuff from Ozark Hill clay!
Everyone is fine here on the Creekbank...and the Cocker kennel had a good night without any new victims...so glad
This is my new nest design fresh out of the kiln...I am waiting for a pair of diamond doves, and they love the open nests, but the store bought baskets are kinda drab...so here is the idea I came up with...It will hang from the cage top and is quite well balanced when hung..Course I had to try it with a real burdie in it! I am in the process of designing other nest containers for the other fids too..love the clay idea..and if it isn't glazed, it can be sprayed on the outside and will provide humidity...kinda like a terra cotta flower pot does...I will hand build one,and then cast a plaster mold to make more in one piece...same with the dipper dovenest piece. Surely do love amusin' m'self!
