Well, This little guy is going to make it I think! The same parents that wouldn't care for the last baby, seem to have at least figured out a thing or two..they did lose two other tiny ones, but at least this looks like they passed lesson #2! I have left them alone just to see if they would keep up the rearing...so..

The Baby is 19 days old today! He/she hatched the 25th of March...I have had my fingers crossed every day...but right now the Momma is with the baby for the night...for some reason, the Poppa just feeds the Momma, and doesn't go into the nest or try to feed the youngun'..Some of my pairs will both be in the nest box all thru the rearing..some males only go in and help feed after 10 days or so..then this guy, just takes care of Momma and lets her do the feeding and nesting stuff! Guess it just depends on the indivigual males..Thwe picture doesn't do the baby justice..it is a really extra bright pink color..wonder if it will be a male?
