I would like for you all to meet Winston!

He is a VERY curious and vocal guy! Ken got to scritch his head! I have to admit I wasn't that brave just yet with him! Would like to give him some time to settle in!

He and Kato are now side by side in our den! I think Kato actually likes it better NOT in the bird room, but we always put him out there in the day, so he would be distracted from plucking. NOW he will have Winston for company! Already Winston has turned him on to talking while we are IN the room! Something Kato wouldn't do before!
Winston made some snorting sounds and Ken asked, "Winston, how does the pig go?" Winston would snort EVERY time! I think he KNOWS that!! He also said, "ID-EEE-UT!" A very SLOW word- idiot! It was SO funny! I think he is going to fit in JUST fine at our house! (Yes, that makes 15!!)
Winston had an owner who is now a teenage guy now, and no time for him. I don't think Winston had much OUT of the Cage time, either, and he will not step up. Some real things to work on! but we will worry about that later!

Awww Kim, He is adorable! :heart: I am so glad you got him, he will be good company for Kato.

Thank you, Jean! You are always so positive! I think it will be a good thing, for both of them, and us, as well! What fun! It feels good to be helping!

What a cute fellow. Kato will enjoy the company and maybe the two of them will be good for each other. :thumbup:

Thanks, Barb and Vicki! You know, we weren't OUT to take in another, but when a help call goes out to you . . .. how can you not? Ken is just SO wonderful about it all, too! Hardly enough room for PEOPLE at our house, but he would not turn one away! HOW lucky can I get?! Surrounded by ALL that love?!! We DO believe that Winston will be happy with us, and vice versa! OH, but it makes me hope he REALLY takes to Ken! *grin* I think it will be a blessing!

Kim, What a cutie! You and Ken are great people. :wub: How nice that Winston and Kato seem to be getting along, or at least keeping each other company. :clap:

I love the name Winston!! He's one gorgeous guy!!! How old is he? I don't remember how you found him... where's the post that tells how you got him?

CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to Winston , 15 WOW !!!! well if you say he belonged to a guy chances are he will take to Ken , fingers crossed he takes to the whole flock and you have a happy life together ..kept the piccy`s coming , I too missed the story of how you came to get Winston maybe you could refresh here for us...

As we work with a rescue, the fellow had asked us if we'd take him- he currently has 54 birds in-house! So! We said, Sure! We didn't NEED another bird, but he needed help. We got ready- the week he had asked us was kind of a bad week for us both, and then we were cage juggling . . . ! and finally, we decided to deliver the big cage that Kato had come in back to the Rescue- Kato hated it- felt it had been his prison, so we knew we would not want it around- and Dave said that Winston had found a home! WEll, by the time we actually got to deliver the cage, Dave said the adoption was not going through- the guy wouldn't sign our contract!! so he asked if we could pick up Winston when we brought the cage! WOW! Okay~! But it all worked out fine!
Winston is SUCH a character! I think Kato is already sick of him! He will snort like a pig, bark like a dog, he does a rooster or chicken, and also a cow, that we know of! Not always on demand, but sometimes! WHen you start to talk, he says, "Say WHAT?!" It's just SO funny!
I would be glad if Winston woudl take up with Ken! He would just LOVE that, I know! So, we are up to buying some toys for Winston. We gave him a hand-me-down from Kato, which he just loves, and Ken said we should buy one specifically for him! I think so, too!

I AM behind here! Winston is about the same age as Kato- 10 yrs. old! He still has his band on, so I would like to investigate further! Kato, of course, was 10 on my son's birthday- isn't that cool?!!
I think Winston's previous owner was a young man who had "outgrown" him, or at least had no more interest in having him. HOW sad. I cannot imagine NOT wanting and loving a bird like this! He is just incredible! He seems to be working really well with Ken- he has scritched him a couple of times already! I hope he will get him to stepping up in the future! Kato is so stubborn, but he's just like a kid! If you are firm, usually he does it. BUT, he would bite Ken instead of stepping up! Sometimes he bites me, too, but not often. Maybe Winston will bond with Ken! WOULD be cool!

He sounds funny as can be!! Our nanday Bart's only word when she came to us was What? It does sound funny when you are having a conversation with someone.
It's kinda like Elvie, he will reply with that's right! or is that right!LOL they are fun!
