Yesterday afternoon when I went into the breakfast nook, where the fids live, there was a peach-faced lovebird in the cage with two young cockatiels..the cage doors were closed, as well as the doors to "Skittles" cage..I caught her and put her back into her own cage...well, this morning she must have jimmied her door again and got out. I didn't see her, but the two whitefaced cockatiels that were nesting, were both out of the box and flitting about...When I couldn't find Skittles, I finally peeked into the cockatiel nest box, and behold there she was setting on the cockatiel eggs..kinda..the eggs were not very warm, but I took her back AGAIN to her own house..but the pair of cockatiels wouldn't go back in their nest box...what to do? what to do! I finally put the eggs under Skittles that is always building nests and even lays sterile eggs..think the eggs are goners, but maybe they didn't get too cold..Now, there are new hooks on Skittles cage so she can't go cage hopping again! Hope the whitefaces go back to nesting again!
