It was almost 3 years ago .... I started my new job at the local pet shop. While being trained, I was introduced to "Blue", the "very mean" B&G Macaw who lived in the little bird room. It was love at first sight for both of us, I always said that Eephus chose me. Within 6 months, he came home with me and was given a new name.

So many memories: The day he flew away from Greg and led the whole town on a merry chase for 3 hours ... The day he escaped his cage and made his destructive way through the house ... The way he said "B-Bye" in a little-girl voice when he was ready for bed ... The way he yelled "Say Hi" as loud as he could when he was happy to see us come home ... The way I had to sleep on the couch some nights because he'd claimed my pillow and guarded Greg all night. Even though he ended up preferring Greg over me, he was still Momma's sweet birdie-boy and a lot of the last 2 and a half years revolved around him.

He'll always be remembered and he'll be missed for a long time to come ...

Eephus 6/25/99 - 7/5/05 ... RIP - You left us much too soon.

Sharon, he is so beautiful, and what you wrote, and the way you wrote it just leaves me in tears. I am so very sorry for and Greg's and your loss... words can't express sadness and emptiness like this, but the memories are vivid and will last forever. You've painted beautiful memories to share with all of us here, and I feel so sad for you and Greg... and so sorry Eephus left so soon.
